FIBROMA
An uncommon benign tumour (neoplasm) arising from dermal (inner layer
of skin) or subcutaneous (beneath the skin) fibroplasts. Most common in Boxers,
Boston Terriers, Dobermans, Golden Retrievers, & Fox Terriers. Females are
predisposed. FIBROMAS are solitary, composed mainly of fibrous or fully
developed connective tissue, and may be more common on limbs, flanks, and groin.
FIBROMAS are locally aggressive and grow to a larger size. Surgical removal may
be necessary.
